Cellexcel Ltd

Cellexcel has developed a novel process for manufacturing water-resistant bio-composites based on plant fibres, to replace non-renewable materials such as fiberglass and plastics. Our aim is to license the process to manufacturers of composite materials in order to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the security of manufacturing supply chains.

The latest spin-off from the University of East Anglia, Cellexcel has created a novel process to manufacture water-resistant bio-composite materials. These will replace conventional composites such as fiberglass and carbon fibre, as well as plastics and even metal. Applications include external automotive components and panels, leisure craft and outdoor furniture, lowering the carbon footprint of their manufacture.
