Founded in 1909 as an automobile company in Cambridge, Marshall entered the aviation business in 1929. The Marshall Group, still a privately owned company, is chaired by Alex Dorrian CBE since Sir Michael Marshall moved to the role of President in October 2016. Robert Marshall, the fourth generation of the Marshall family, became Group Chief Executive in 2012.

Plans for a new Cambridge urban quarter being developed on land north of Newmarket Road, next to Abbey Ward and Fen Ditton, comprising up to 1,300 new homes, a primary school, shops, businesses, open spaces and community facilities, are now well advanced. Marshall neighbours will get a preview of the developing plans over the next three days (4-6 July), when Marshall will be hosting a pre-planning application Public Engagement.

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group (Marshall ADG) was this year awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of the deployable CT scanner and forensic laboratory solutions designed and manufactured by Marshall Land Systems (part of Marshall ADG). Bookings for new summer direct flights and holiday packages to Jersey departing from Cambridge Airport are exceeding all expectations, according to tour operator CI Travel. As the second year of direct flights starts this Saturday, the independent Channel Islands specialist has confirmed that forward-bookings are up by 75% year on year.
