With design centres in Cambridge UK, Detroit USA and Pietermaritzburg SA, we have over 25 years experience of providing engineering services to large and small clients across the automotive, transportation, industrial and military markets. Our working style is extremely flexible.  We can work independently from a high level specification or work as an integral part of your team to maximise the reuse of your control strategies and facilitating the transfer of knowledge.

Manufacturing Services
Pi Shurlok has been manufacturing high quality automotive electronics at its factories in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, for over 30 years and consistently operates to the exacting quality levels and standards required by automotive OEM and military customers.

OpenECU™ Production ready electronic control systems
Initially conceived as a rapid prototyping platform for our engineering services projects, OpenECU has developed into a standard product range of electronic control units (ECUs) with specific features suited to many applications. Each OpenECU product is designed to the automotive standards required for cost effective use in both prototypes and medium scale production.

OpenECU products are fully supported with system level, software development tools and royalty free applications software.

Control Instruments develops, manufactures and distributes products and services into niche sectors of the worldwide automotive industry.  Its activities are focussed on fleet management systems, high quality, branded aftermarket products, and electronic components delivered to original equipment vehicle manufacturers.
