Consumer Products & Supply Special Interest Group: 'Personalised Products'

Consumers want products that fit their personal needs better. This can already be seen in the success of products that are co-created (e.g.Threadless, Local Motors), built to order (e.g. Dell, Zafu), or customised in use (e.g. iPhone with its App Store).

In this event we will hear from P&G, Tonejet, Hypertag and Samsung about the trends in consumer demand and the new technologies supporting shorter production runs, more personalized information at the Point of Sale and customisation in use.

Speakers will be:

Sally Loughlin (Principal Scientist Global Grooming,  Procter & Gamble) (pictured)
Sally will discuss how P&G as a large consumer goods company has redefined what customisation is for our business and how we are designing products to deliver consumer delight.

Ray Southam (CEO, Tonejet)
Unlocking the full potential for packaging. 
Ray will be looking at the changing opportunities for packaging that are being unlocked by the application of digital printing processes, particularly Tonejet.
 
Jonathan Morgan (MD, Hypertag)
Hypertag increases sales and footfall for customers by allowing digital content such as wallpapers, video clips, games, music clips, vouchers or web links to be downloaded direct to consumer’s mobile phones quickly and for free.

Jim O'Reilly (Europe R&D Collaboration and Sensing manager within Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT)  based in the UK.)
Jim will talk about relevant and new Product Personalisation opportunities, including news of a newly launched open Mobile platform and application ecosystem. 

This event is FREE to all staff from Cambridge Network Corporate Member companies (which includes all university staff and students), We are most grateful to Cambridge Consultants Limited and to Procter & Gamble for championing and sponsoring this event. Cambridge Network's Consumer Products & Supply Special Interest Group aims to provide a platform where mainstream technology members of the Cambridge Network can interact with those companies focused more specifically on consumer device issues, for the benefit of both.


The venue:  The Seminar Centre at the Hauser Forum (3 Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge, CB3 0GT). There is an unsurfaced car park for event attendees at the opposite end of Charles Babbage Road to the Hauser Forum but on the same side of the road. It is about a 5 minute walk. 

The evening will start with registration at 6pm.
