PrismaStar Software, a US startup with development offices near Prague, CZ, won a first-place Internet Effectiveness Award with its first client, WLW (http://www.hotelselector.cz), using AnswerOil™ product search technology. The prize was awarded in December 2007 by Economia Online, a leading Czech business publication.

“Despite significant competition from major multinational corporations, we knew we had a chance to win given the innovative nature of PrismaStar’s product selection engine and the positive feedback we’ve received from customers,” said Iztok Toplak, Managing Director, WLW-CZ. “Using AnswerOil has definitely helped our business.”

AnswerOil provides an alternative to the inefficiencies of existing filter search with a patent-pending solution that drives better, faster decisions for product recommendation and selection. AnswerOil was launched in the Czech Republic in 2007 for B2B and B2C product search. PrismaStar plans a European and US roll-out of AnswerOil in 2008 with emphasis on digital cameras and other consumer electronics.

“We’ve already seen improved sales conversion rates (from our beta version) as a result of shoppers more quickly and easily finding what they want without leaving our partners’ Web sites to do product research,” explained Joshua Tabin, CEO, PrismaStar Software. Tabin added, “Filter search doesn’t work on its own and this award proves that AnswerOil satisfies a gap in the market for product search.”
