![]() Polysolar LimitedDate: 19/02/09 Polysolar wins 'best emerging technology' awardPolysolar, an innovative Cambridge company developing transparent photovoltaic glazing based on organic photovoltaic material, was the winner of the 'Best Emerging Technology Award 2009' at the East of England Energy Group's 'Energy Innovation' awards ceremony held in Norwich on the 4th February.
Hamish Watson, the CEO of Polysolar, who accepted the award on behalf of the company, said '" This prestigious award endorses our technology and our belief on the increasing importance building integrated Solar Power will have in meeting our renewable energy needs in the future". Aside from developing transparent photovoltaic glazing for windows and building facades, which the company hopes to have in commercial production in a couple of years, Polysolar is already involved in the specification and installation of photovoltaic in a number of major building projects across the UK. Working with a range of European photovoltaic companies, Polysolar is able to offer bespoke thin-film photovoltaic modules that can deliver economic returns in the UK.
