Design Week Awards

The AlertMe Home Monitoring and Security system won joint top prize in the Consumer Product Design category alongside Apple Inc’s MacBook Air – fine company indeed.

eg technology works very closely with the AlertMe team designing the new products that continue to expand their offering. Its industrial design work on the SmartPlug and Lamp has been backed up by the sound understanding of manufacturing processes that  the company has brought to other products in the range. Its eye-catching packaging designs contribute to the overall feeling of quality that you get from the AlertMe brand.

Shell Springboard Awards

AlertMe received a Shell Springboard award of £40,000 for its Energy Management products and services. Based around the SmartPlug developed with eg technology, AlertMe’s energy proposition allows users to monitor the power being used by individual appliances. Using manual and automatic controls, AlertMe can save up to £30 a month on heating and electricity bills and cut domestic energy wastage and associated carbon emissions by a quarter.

Presenting the award, which is recognised as the UK’s leading climate change award, Duncan Macleod, VP Hydrogen & GTL, Shell International Ltd commented, “it’s this kind of cutting-edge innovation that has made the UK a world leader in low carbon technology investment.”
