Papworth Trust is recognised in Building Excellence Awards

Leading disability charity, Papworth Trust, has been awarded for their commitment to building quality and standards.

The Evelyn Fison development, Stowmarket, has been short-listed for the 2009 LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards.

The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards recognise the whole design and build process. The Trust has been short-listed in three categories: Best Large Housing Site; Best Conversion to Residential; and Best Social or Affordable Housing.

Papworth Trust partnered with Hill Residential for the development, which consists of eight rented and one shared ownership properties, and a communal area. Each of the properties is available for people with physical disabilities or acquired brain injuries.

Paul McCay, director of operations at Papworth Trust says: “I’m delighted that our development has been recognised in the LABC Awards. It’s a fantastic development providing affordable housing in a great location.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 24 April at the University Arms Hotel, Cambridge.
