CV Surgery at aspire recruitment solutions

Your CV is a very important document; with it rests your individuality, that next step up the career ladder, a better position, more money and new challenges.

The word Curriculum Vitae literally translated means the story of your life...

Your CV therefore has to represent the best you have to offer if you do not want to miss out on a position that is 'perfect' for you.

Human Capital is the most important asset to any employer and short listing for assessment, the calibre of 50-100 CVs per vacancy in order to identify the best applicant for the job can be a daunting prospect for both the employer and job seeker. In today’s market there are shortages of opportunities in comparison to job seekers; so your CV has to be just that little bit special to stand out if you want to secure interviews!

Amy Hind AIRP of aspire recruitment solutions has launched an initiative to provide free, impartial advice to the East Anglian Business Community and engage in a CV Surgery road show. Travelling throughout our community during November & December Amy invites candidates to pre-book appointments with her to discuss their CV, offering guidance, advice and tips on improvements where needed.

“Many jobseekers CVs that aspire review daily do not capitalise on the holders experience, skills, achievements, transferable qualities, external validations and promotions. In addition many use fonts/colours that are unsightly to the readers eye, contain spelling mistakes, offer repetitive text or quite simply provide a ‘War & Peace’ remake of their lives to date.

Hiring organisations are now scrutinising job seekers CVs for unexplained gaps in employment, duties that do not convey how they performed just what they were meant to be doing, salary fluctuations and unprofessional email addresses. Photographs and Video CVs are also avoided when recruiting as they allow for the potential of discrimination on the basis of age, sex, race etc...” Amy comments.

During the CV Surgery road show candidates will have the opportunity to register for employment through aspire recruitment solutions whereby current opportunities can be discussed. Details will also remain their file for future opportunities that arise. Candidates who are available immediately for employment can discuss potential routes to market through ‘Amy’s Angels-The Temporary Workforce of East Anglia’

The first date for Amy’s CV Surgery is Tuesday 17th November 2009 at The Golden Ball Hotel, Boxworth, Cambridge, CB23 4LY. To book an appointment to meet with Amy and discuss your CV and career aspirations contact 01954 267892 or email amy@aspirerecruitmentsolutions.co.uk
