Stem cell collaborators needed

EESCN logoThe East of England Stem Cell Network has received an inquiry from a large Japanese company which has developed technology around the use of adipose-derived stem cells. The company is keen to identify a partner to conduct joint R&D to explore the feasibility of using adipose-derived cells in a variety of areas.

It is particularly interested in identifying collaborative opportunities to use adipose-derived cells to treat intractable diseases.

Targets include:
·         Neurological - e.g. stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease
·         Urological - e.g. urinary incontinence
·         Renal failure - both acute and chronic rental failure
·         Diabetes Type I
·         Liver cirrhosis

Ideal partners would be academic research workers in hospitals, universities, or research institutes, with strength in cell research and experience in clinical studies, having access to appropriate animal models.  Familiarity with related regulatory issues is an advantage (which EESCN can provide).  The company may, however, also be interested in collaborations with commercial organisations.

If you are interested in this enquiry, please contact Julian Hitchcock at your soonest opportunity:
