Fen Technology partners with PPE KTN to deliver product development tutorial day

Fen Technology Ltd, an electronic design services company, today announced the successful delivery of a tutorial day at Fen that, in partnership with the PPE KTN Ltd and other local organisations, helped guide early stage product companies through the specification, design, manufacture and test of new product ideas.

After discussions with the Photonics & Plastic Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network (PPE KTN), it was decided there would be great value in Fen using its considerable experience and knowledge of the product development lifecycle to aid early stage organisations and those who felt they needed to improve their understanding of certain key aspects of the product development process.

A series of talks and workshops covered a wide range of areas from the mechanics of a process-driven specification and design cycle, through manufacture ramp up sign-off to volume production. Other important areas covered included Intellectual Property (IP) and patent strategy and processes, and funding available for different stages of development.

"We are very pleased with how well the tutorial was received by the broad spectrum of delegates who attended" said Paul Buggs, Development Director at Fen. "There appeared to be particular interest in the development examples we discussed in the design workshop. There was lots of good interaction and challenging questions from the floor", Buggs added.

"Fen hosted a very entertaining and educational day" said Nick Kirkwood, Operations Manager UK PPE KTN Ltd. "We received lots of very positive feedback from the delegates and look forward to hosting more of these days with Fen in the future."

Fen Technology undertakes all aspects of electronic product design, including complete system and sub-system design, together with hardware and software component design. Its design services span product concept to production, enabling its customers to bring better products to market faster. Fen Technology’s flexible and progressive approach allows it to react quickly to changing customer requirements.
