Business mentors needed to support new start ups

Local enterprise agency NWES is seeking volunteer mentors to support new entrepreneurs who are starting or growing a business under the Government's Start Up loans programme.

The scheme provides low cost loans to people in the UK who want to start a new business.

As a delivery partner, NWES provides free support from a team of experienced Business Advisors to help entrepreneurs develop their ideas and apply for the funding.

Paul Gardner, Start Up Loans Manager at NWES, explains: “Mentors provide a key role in guiding businesses during the critical start-up period and their experience and knowledge is a real asset to new entrepreneurs.

“We are looking for people who have experience of management or running a business, and previous knowledge of mentoring is not essential although we can provide training and guidance as required.”

Tracy Minns, Managing Director in East Anglian based Chartered Accountants, Resolve Business Solutions, joined the NWES mentoring programme last year. She said:

“There are few things more pleasing to us as a firm than to help a business grow and fulfill its potential. This is why we come to work. We are really excited about the future and the support we can offer to businesses thorough NWES programs.”
