City Deal Shadow Board holds first public meeting

The Greater Cambridge City Deal Shadow Board is holding its first public meeting today at the Guildhall in Cambridge.

The Shadow Board meets regularly to discuss how to deliver the commitments and benefits set out in the City Deal. In due course this will include preferred ways to invest the Government’s City Deal funding, which will provide potentially hundreds of millions of additional pounds for transport and infrastructure projects in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire in the coming years.

Today’s meeting is the first time that the public have been able to attend a City Deal Shadow Board meeting. The next meeting of the Shadow Board in December, and formal meetings of the Executive Board (which the Shadow Board is due to become in January) will also be open to the public, and all agenda papers will be publicly available on the councils’ websites.

The Shadow Board comprises members from Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, and the University of Cambridge.

Today’s meeting of the Greater Cambridge City Deal Shadow Board takes place from 2pm in Committee Rooms 1 and 2 at the Guildhall in Cambridge. The agenda can be read here.
