In December, the company revealed its Versius universal robotic surgery system designed to perform minimally invasive upper GI, gynaecological, colorectal and renal surgery and is now rapidly progressing towards manufacturing scale up and market introduction. CMR’s mission is to make surgical robotics commonplace in every hospital by providing a cost-effective, flexible, next-generation solution capable of carrying out 90% of minimal access procedures.

Martin Frost, CEO, commented: “We have built a world-class surgical robotics team here in Cambridge and, as we get closer to turning our vision into reality, our desire to recruit more top-flight people to join our team only increases. Our team is passionate about developing a next-generation system that will significantly improve the lives of millions of people undergoing surgery each year around the world.”

In just three years the company has grown to over 70 people and, whilst expansion continues at a pace, the company maintains a strong culture of ambition, creativity and teamwork.
