Cambridge Judge Business School is inviting project proposals for its Cambridge Venture Projects (CVP 2014), which offers companies seeking to create or implement a new venture the chance to work with a team of mature business students on a key market analysis issue.
The CVP is a practical application of market analysis skills. It is the first 'live' project for the core MBA programme, in which a team of four or five Cambridge MBA students are assigned to work with a company/organisation or entrepreneurial venture to estimate the potential market for a new product or service.
While the key learning of the CVP, from the teaching perspective, is to develop management practice and market analysis skills, the CVP also gives students an insight into the challenges faced when starting a new venture.
The School therefore invites interesting, challenging market research proposals from clients who have a genuine interest in the problem and are prepared to commit time and energy to the MBA team.
Your company should have at least four employees and a product, treatment or service for which you may want to:
- Investigate market opportunities for a new product, service or treatment
- Evaluate consumer behaviour and competitive forces in relation to these, using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques
- Generate insights into potential strategies, opportunities for commercialisation and possible routes to market
Sadia Cuthbert, MBA Projects Manager, says: "We often work with companies outside the Cambridge area, provided they are able to have regular face to face meetings with their CVP teams in Cambridge.
"Our MBA students are professionals with an average of seven years' work experience. Coming from over 40 countries, our cohort represents a wide range of sectors and job functions, and all students have excellent business and academic references.
"The CVP runs from October to December 2014. You will be required to attend the hour-long final presentation between 8-11 December at Cambridge Judge Business School. As a client, you will own the IP of the findings.
"No fee is charged - any direct project expenses necessary for the CVP are met by the client and reimbursed directly to the student team."
