Improve your skills with Learning Collaboration courses

Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration courses lined up for the end of this month focus on interviewing skills and project management leadership.

Good recruitment is about finding the right person for the job. Although simple enough, it is often challenging to select the right candidate, especially in a competitive market. Interviewers are usually under pressure to get additional resources and candidates are keen to get employment - so the selection process is vitally important to reduce the risk of costly mistakes and ensure the fit works and is rewarding for both.

Interviewing Skills on Tuesday 28 April at the Royal Society of Chemistry (Barton Room, Thomas Graham House, 290 Science Park, Cambridge CB4 0WF) will help you learn how to find the right fit for your business.  This one-day workshop is designed to equip managers with a range of skills and techniques so they can conduct recruitment interviews which are professional, effective and within the law.

Project Management and Leadership on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 April at PA Consulting (Cambridge Technology Centre, Melbourn HERTS SG8 6DP) is a two-day workshop aimed at managers who lead teams and projects and who already have some basic knowledge and understanding of the workings of projects.

The content assumes that you have some experience of project working and that you are responsible for running at least one project. The focus is on the leadership aspects of project working, while still covering tools and techniques.

The workshop will:

  • introduce you to the skills, tools and challenges of leading a successful project
  • provide you with an opportunity to practise leadership skills and tools
  • enable you to identify personal learning and prepare a personal development plan
