IT Governance launches ISO22301 Training Programme

IT Governance Ltd, the global leader in business continuity management expertise, has today launched one of the first ISO22301 training programmes in the UK to provide delegates with essential foundation and implementation knowledge on the new international business continuity standard.

The first training session takes place in September. Delegates that have previous knowledge of BS25999, and those who are new to ISO22301, can now book places online here: www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3186

Alan Calder, CEO of IT Governance, says, ‘We are delighted to be one of the first companies in the UK to launch fully up-to-date ISO22301 Foundation and Lead Implementer training courses. With the first organisation to have been issued an ISO22301 certificate by BSI Spain in May 2012, we are certain more organisations are soon to follow, not least because of the obvious business reason of gaining competitive advantage.’

Calder continues, ‘We have been running our business continuity courses for a couple of years now. Our ISO22301 training programme has been designed to provide business continuity professionals with all the necessary skills to implement a business continuity management system (BCMS) and achieve ISO22301-compliance.’

ISO/IEC 22301:2012 was published in May 2012 and replaces the BS25999 standard which will be withdrawn in November 2012. All organisations that hold BS25999 will be required to move to ISO22301 with the expected transition period likely to be no more than 24 months.

Calder says, ‘Implementation of the ISO22301 standard will help companies deal with unforeseeable business disruptions like IT service failure or a major act of nature, enabling them to go ‘back to business as usual’ quickly. This is critical for keeping the confidence of their customers and employees intact.’

The ISO22301 training programme combines two courses which can be booked together or separately:

The ISO22301 BCMS Foundation Training Course provides an introduction to the best practices associated with business continuity management as defined by ISO22301. The interactive course will also provide a guide to the differences between ISO22301 and BS25999. The course takes place on 11 September 2012 in London. Places can be booked immediately here www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/2140.

The ISO22301 BCMS Lead Implementer Training Course provides a comprehensive and practical coverage of all aspects of implementing a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and ensuring full accreditation to the ISO22301 standard. The three-day course takes place on 12-14 September 2012 in London. Places can be booked immediately here: www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/1435
