We are looking for a world-class Product Development Manager to join our Desktop Division, working on Citrix XenDesktop, our desktop virtualization and VDI solution that delivers a complete Windows desktop experience as an on-demand service to any user, anywhere.
You will help us to develop our existing products new solutions within a dynamic team of skilled developers, test engineers, technical authors, translators and user-oriented design gurus.
You will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, controlling and staffing the resources within an engineering group as well as strong interaction with cross-functional distributed teams (internal and external). You will be expected to identify technical opportunities and recommend programs to management in such areas as product development, efficiency improvement, quality improvement, cost reduction, and reliability and performance improvements. You will have a good understanding of customer requirements (deployment or support escalation) and use cases in the field.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
Project Related
• Build and sustain a team of experienced development engineers while leveraging development resources from multiple locations, including overseas development centers.
• Identify and resolve technical issues at a high-level and delegate practical implications (i.e. critical assessment of technical roadmap and/or design requirements and how to execute).
• Commit to reasonable development schedules and deliver solutions on time with high quality.
• Broader collaboration with business management, development, and project management.
• Manage resources and (awareness of/sensitivity to) established budget.
People Management
• Mentor and grow the team (including junior managers) and serve as a champion for a positive team environment.
• Lead the team through the development process and seek opportunity for continuous improvement and best practices on multiple projects of high complexity.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
• Experience in software development, maintenance and project management of complex software systems.
• Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and APIs.

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, Experience)
• BS degree or advanced degree or equivalent in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education. Work experience required of individuals holding an MS or higher degree in one of these fields may be less.
• 8+ years experience of directly related work experience in software development and process.
• Minimum 2+ years experience managing people.
• Experience in project management in a high demanding environment.
• At least 3+ years of experience in application software release cycle.
• Experience scheduling the development of technically complex code
• Recent hands-on experience of Windows internals is preferred
• Experience of leading Development and Test teams preferred
• Recent people management, staff development, coaching and mentoring would be an advantage
