Background:

XenServer is an advanced, open-source, server-virtualization platform built on top of the Xen hypervisor. It sports a high-performance, fully-featured tool-stack that manages storage, networking and virtual machines running on clusters of physical hosts. To help us achieve our goal of delivering high-quality, exciting features into this tool-stack, while supporting an ever-growing customer base, we are looking to hire experienced software project managers to join our established software production team.

Key Responsibilities:

The project manager is responsible for successful delivery of complex software projects, within a multi-project environment. Responsibilities include:

Negotiating project outcomes with sponsors and key stakeholders
Driving the creation of project plans, and ensuring that these have the buy-in of the engineers on the project team
Identifying and managing risk within the project
Ensuring that projects are run and directed on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the sponsor in accordance with the plan
Ensuring projects meet their goals (including, for example, goals related to timeliness, product quality and functionality)
Ensuring projects remain agile through controlled change to goals and outcomes
Preparing and reporting project status to sponsors at appropriate tollgate meetings, including forecast and actual project costs
Driving continuous improvement throughout the XenServer Engineering group (e.g. by facilitating 'lessons learned' activities to gather feedback from project teams and improving processes based on this)

Qualifications and Requirements:

A track record of success as a software project manager and experience of delivering software in a complex multi-project environment
A track record of success as a software engineer, and a deep understanding of the software engineering process
PRINCE2 qualified (preferred)
Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, leadership and change management skills are a must.
