Who we are
|Claire Ruskin BSc CEng FIET
Claire Ruskin has long been part of the Cambridge Phenomenon, starting in chip design as an electronics engineer at Cambridge Consultants and then delivering increasingly ambitious technical product developments for a range of clients around the world. She has extensive technical and practical knowledge and experience with developing products, people and companies. Claire travels worldwide, when needed, to talk about what makes Cambridge such a special place and how it has created so many technologies and companies.
Claire was a Board Director of both Cambridge Consultants and Arthur D Little, then moved to PA Consulting to combine the art of management consulting with continued technical developments. Claire helped form start-ups including CSR [sold to Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm] and Alphamosaic [sold to Broadcom] and was on the Council of Advisors for Redgate Software. She is a non-executive director of Eastern Academic Health Science Network (EAHSN) and is an Executive Board member of the Greater Cambridge Partnership, trying to help Cambridge grow in a good way, with housing, access and skills.
At the Network Claire runs the Cambridge Leaders' Academy and the School for Scale-Ups, providing peer learning platforms for thriving and developing organisations.
Claire has been quoted in many major publications and news outlets including BBC News and Radio (local and national), Business Weekly, Cambridge News, Cambridge Independent, Financial Times, The Guardian and the New York Times.
Head of Recruitment Gateway
Before joining the Cambridge Network team Claire was an experienced recruitment consultant, working with local companies large and small and focussed on executive search, graduate and technical recruiting. She now uses this knowledge, background and contacts to manage the Recruitment Gateway and organise our jobs fairs for Network members and jobseekers. Claire's focus, understanding and appreciation of the local jobs market (for companies as well as individuals) means she is very well placed to support employers and candidates through the whole recruitment process.
Senior Administrator and Member Liaison
Sara supports Cambridge Network members to get the best of their membership. She manages their enquiries about events, learning and development, recruitment and accounts. Sarah also ably supports the Network team and CEO.
Kelly deals with for all daily accounting processes within Cambridge Network. This includes issuing annual membership subscription and renewal notices, credit control, reconciliation, working with suppliers and invoices for training and recruitment services. She is also supporting the integration of the Network's finance systems and membership database.
Lucy is one of the receptionists for the Hauser Forum and is an administrator for Cambridge Network. She manages reception, the Seminar Centre and supports building tenants: Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Innovation Capital and ideaSpace.
Recruitment Gateway Assistant
Ruth supports Claire Angus in running the Recruitment Gateway and in particular manages our candidate database; supporting job searches and highlighting suitable vacancies. She also supports the running of regular recruitment events, as well as creating and distributing our weekly jobs letter. Ruth's career thus far has been focused on supporting people and companies so she is ideally placed to work with Network members and jobseekers, helping both achieve their goals.
A qualified journalist and experienced copywriter and editor, Judi has had overall responsibility for the content of the Cambridge Network website since its inception, and she continues to edit and publish member news. She is also responsible for the production of our weekly newsletter.
Agri-Tech East Administrator
Becky is part of our sister company Agri-Tech East. She manages their membership community, website, digital marketing and annual events programme. Becky has extensive creative and IT skills so as well as providing the Agri-Tech East audience with delightful graphics and videos, she's very supportive to the Network team with technical guidance for our shared databases and back office systems.
|Sarah L Gleadell
Head of Learning and Development
Sarah manages our Learning Collaboration. She deals with all the administration, organisation, communications, account management and logistics for members, trainers and attendees. Sarah has excellent connections with Cambridge's business community and this network has lead her to be a key figure in managing Learning at Work Week activities (throughout the year) and workplace wellbeing issues.
Events and IT
Andrea is responsible for running two of our peer learning groups, ensuring a varied calendar of events with collaboration and facilitation from group members. With extensive knowledge of our CMS and CRM systems and a keen interest in IT, Andrea also deals with first line tech support both internally and for our members. She is also managing our current website redevelopment programme, which aims to improve systems for the Network team and members.
Marketing & Membership
A history graduate, Alexandra has ended up working with various technology companies in Cambridge; including CSR, ProQuest, Cambridge University Press and UbiNetics. From publishing she moved into B2B marketing and PR and now manages digital marketing for Cambridge Network and our members. She manages our website, social media and supports members in making the most of their memberships.
Carol has been supporting the Network for a couple of years as a consultant. In January she joined us permanently to bolster our accounts team.
Rebekah is one of the receptionists for the Hauser Forum and is an administrator for Cambridge Network. She manages reception, the Seminar Centre and supports building tenants: Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Innovation Capital and ideaSpace.
Ramesh has recently joined Cambridge Network to support our website and IT infrastructure.
Louise manages our events programme, which includes regular networking meetings with guest speakers as well as bespoke events for members or visitors to Cambridge. She also organises some of our our peer learning groups which support career and personal development for Network members. Louise has excellent connections with Cambridge's business community and her knowledge of the regional economy means she our first point of call for inward investment guidance and signposting.
Agri-Tech East Administrator
Fiona works with our sister company Agri-Tech East helping to develop its events portfolio and work with its rapidly expanding membership. She is also supporting the development of the Young Innovators’ Forum by working with early career researchers and industry professionals to help them get connected.
