Does your company have a sustainable, competitive business model? Are you looking at how your supply chain depends upon the natural world?
Understanding how your business impacts, and depends upon, the natural environment can ultimately make your company more sustainable and competitive - not to mention mitigate reputational risk, lower business costs and spark new innovative ways of doing business, and help you stay one step ahead of environmental regulation.
To support this growing need UNEP-WCMC, in collaboration with the Natural Capital Finance Alliance, have developed a new tool, ENCORE (https://encore.naturalcapital.finance/en), allowing businesses to visualise how they depend on the environment and how environmental change creates risks for businesses.
Katie Leach, Senior Programme Officer in the Business Programme at UNEP-WCMC, will provide an overview of the recently launched tool with case studies from particular business sectors, such as pharmaceuticals and technology. You will also learn how consideration of the environment can create long-term value for your business more broadly, and why it is important to understand how your business impacts and depends on nature.
About UNEP-WCMC: We confront the challenges faced by our world’s biodiversity with knowledge, innovation and leadership. In partnership with UN Environment and based in Cambridge, the UK’s conservation capital, we connect science, policy and society. Our access and influence empowers decision makers to create positive and sustainable impact for people and nature.
