For nearly 40 years Cambridge Summer Music (CSM) has promoted live performances of classical music of the highest calibre in Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
Founded in 1979 as an organ recital series, CSM’s activity has grown to encompass vocal and instrumental music of diverse genres, ranging from the most intimate solo and chamber repertoire to works for massed choir and orchestra.
Each year CSM promotes up to 50 concerts through its village chamber music series Music in Quiet Places, the annual Cambridge Summer Music Festival in July, and other events. CSM reaches more than 15,000 local, national and international concertgoers, enriching lives with music-making of distinction and maintaining the region’s vibrant classical music tradition.
