The Open University (OU) is the United Kingdom's largest university with around 140,000 undergraduate and more than 30,000 postgraduate students. 10,000 of our students have disabilities. The OU's headquarters are at Walton Hall in Milton Keynes but the Regional Centre for the East of England is in Cambridge. The OU offers qualifications from certificates,diplomas and foundation degrees through to Masters and PhDs. More than 140,000 people study with the OU at undergradaute level.
Research is at the heart of the OU's work - underpinning the teaching it provides. It also informs the programmes it makes with the BBC, reaching 40 million viewers every year and features in the OU's myriad open education resources - massively extending global access to higher education. The OU performed well once again in the 2015 National Student Survey released by HEFCE. THe OU was given an overall satisfaction rating of 90% making it one of only three Higher Education Institutions to consistently score 90% or above every year since 2007 when the survey started.
