Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge

Trinity Hall is the fifth oldest College in the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1350 by Bishop Bateman, originally for the study of canon and civil law. Enjoying stunning architecture, historic grounds and attractive riverside views, Trinity Hall is also the perfect venue for residential conferences and day meetings, as well as dinners, drinks receptions and other special events.

College life

Trinity Hall consists of around 650 students, both undergraduates and graduates across a range of subject, 60 Fellows, 130 staff and 8,000 alumni worldwide. The College is located in central Cambridge by the river, with a further site at Wychfield off Storey's Way and accommodation on Thompson's Lane and Bateman Street.

Trinity Hall Conferences and Events

Trinity Hall provides a stunning historic setting for residential conferences, day meetings, celebration dinners, drinks receptions, business networking events and much more.  WYNG Gardens, our new conference, events and accommodation venue in the centre of Cambridge, offers high spec, contemporary facilities for up to 100 delegates and en-suite double bedrooms.

Trinity Hall dates back to 1350 and is one of the oldest and most beautiful of the Cambridge Colleges. The College was originally founded to promote the study of canon and civil law, probably due to the shortage of clergyman and lawyers following the Black Death of 1349. To this day, the College maintains a strong tradition in the study of Law. Renowned for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, Trinity Hall is home to around 650 students (both undergraduates and postgraduates across a range of subjects), 60 Fellows, 130 staff and 8,000 alumni worldwide. Notable alumni of Trinity Hall include Professor Stephen Hawking, Academy Award winning actress Rachel Weisz, novelist and playwright J.B. Priestley (best known for his play ‘An Inspector Calls’), and more than 15 Olympian medal winners including rower Tom James and cyclist Emma Pooley.

In addition to its role as a centre for academic excellence, Trinity Hall also offers an outstanding venue for conferences, dinners, overnight accommodation, weddings and special events. The College's stunning historic architecture and riverside grounds are matched with exceptional conference and catering facilities.

Author Henry James (1843-1916) famously wrote: “If I were called upon to mention the prettiest corner of the world, I should draw a thoughtful sigh and point the way to the gardens of Trinity Hall.”
