The Anglia Capital Group (ACG) is a private investor network developed to link angel investors to quality deal flow in Norfolk and Suffolk. The Group is open to business angels and investors interested in backing the best innovation springing from the two counties. ACG also enjoys the support of four corporate sponsors: Larking Gowen, Mills & Reeve, Novagraaf and NW Brown.
ACG was launched by Government Minister George Freeman and held its first investment event in November 2014.
The Group is currently expanding and invites private angel investors interested in exciting high growth companies in the region to contact them as per the details below.
ACG has been selected by the New Anglia LEP as the investment partner to the LEP’s co-investment fund. This enables the LEP to match fund against angel investment on a pound for pound basis. In this way the LEP can work with business angels to encourage economic development through job creation in early-stage businesses with high growth potential in sectors such as agricultural technology.
To build on ACG’s excellent relationship with Agri-Tech East, the Group is open to corporate membership from companies and organisations in the field of agri-tech. Indeed, whilst ACG welcomes applications from the life science, health, engineering and energy sectors, it is particularly important that applications for private venture funding come from those involved in agricultural innovation.
ACG Founding Director, Struan McDougall, said: “We are delighted to be working closely with Belinda and the team at Agri-Tech East. We have already started looking at potential investment opportunities passed on to us by Agi-Tech East. Being based in East Anglia we would expect agriculture to provide a major source of deals for ACG, and having first-rate links to Agri-Tech East helps us achieve the deal flow which is so important to our group”.
ACG is based at the Centrum Building on the Norwich Research Park. The Group holds 3-5 events a year in Norfolk and Suffolk.
