An Employers Guide to Apprenticeships: Why You Should Consider Apprenticeships to Grow Your Business
A FREE event for Cambridgeshire organisations eager to learn more about apprenticeships, and how they can benefit their business. Come and get your questions answered and meet the training providers who can help you deliver an apprenticeship in your business.
|Dates||8 Feb 2019 - This event is in the past.|
|Venue||Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, Cambridge|
|Organiser name||Catherine Hay|
Since the introduction of the apprenticeship levy and other reforms, the number of new apprenticeship starts has actually declined. Half of employers will write off at least some of their first tranche of apprenticeship levy funding, according to research conducted by People Management. While apprenticeship starts for the first quarter of the 2018/19 academic year are up on the previous year, they are still lower than before the apprenticeship levy was introduced.
This informal session running from 8am-10am will be ideal for companies that wish to learn more about apprenticeships and how they can help them to develop a workforce with the necessary skills to succeed. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn from other employers about how they're using apprenticeships to plug their skills gaps, and meet local training and education providers who can provide support and run through the steps to bring an apprentice into your business.
Hosted by Anglia Ruskin University, this event forms part of the skills service delivered by Form the Future on behalf of the Greater Cambridge Partnership.
Marc Rothera from Anglia Ruskin University will speak about degree apprenticeships and Anne Bailey, Co-Founder and Director of Form the Future will be giving an update on what’s happened since the apprenticeship levy was introduced, and explain how Form the Future is promoting apprenticeships in local schools.
