Cambridge Network is pleased to be collaborating with the Institute of Continuing Education to bring you this event with Dr Alex Carter of the University of Cambridge, where he will explore the ways in which creativity can be fostered in your organisation, and the ways in which it cannot.
Creativity in Business: is it a game changer?
Increasingly, business leaders are hearing and saying a lot about creativity. These discussions are driven, at least in part, by the perceived threat of automation and a corresponding motivation to develop soft skills, such as collaboration, communication and creativity. Creativity is not just a way to ‘future-proof’ your career; it also promises organisations the means to gain from disorder (anti-fragility). In these uncertain times, creativity is in very high demand.
Join us and ICE for a Business Breakfast at Madingley Hall in Cambridge (free parking), with Dr Alex Carter of the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education, where he will explore some of the ways in which creativity can be fostered in your organisation and some of the ways in which it cannot.
The talk will cover:
- Various underlying theories of creativity and the implications of each exposed.
- What is ‘permission to fail’ and how can it be fostered within an organisation? Would it help to avoid mentioning “failure” altogether - or would “failure” still loom over us?
- How can we foster co-creation within an organisation? To what extent is collaboration a silent practice (rather than a vocal one)?
