Cambridge Network Breakfast Networking: Pensions - what are your options at retirement?
Cambridge Network’s February session will focus on pensions; looking at both auto-enrolment and the forthcoming dramatic changes to pension options at retirement. If you work in an HR department or want to know how your personal situation will be affected at any stage of your working life then this session is for you.

Our first speaker, Paul Turner from FPP, an employee benefits consultancy specialising in auto-enrolment for SMEs, will give an introduction about the legal requirement for all employers to automatically enrol eligible employees into a qualifying workplace pension scheme. He will concentrate on the main things to consider when setting up a scheme, from ascertaining your staging date and assessing your workforce to identifying an appropriate pension scheme to communicating the changes to your employees. Compliance with the new rules is key and getting good advice can ensure you comply with the requirements and ensure you avoid costly fines. By the end of this session you should have a clearer understanding of what you need to do to successfully auto-enrol.
Our second speaker, Paul Cliffe from wealth management company Mattioli Woods will focus on Pension Freedoms. From April 2015 pensions will experience the biggest shake-up in over 100 years so that savers aged 55+ will be able to access their pensions with complete freedom for the first time. This is the biggest shake-up of pensions in over 100 years, and is aimed to rejuvenate an industry that has long been under scrutiny. This talk will concentrate on the new rules about pension options at retirement and the potential implications, good and bad, with this.

Any Cambridge Network member may attend, with the focus of the meeting being on members with under 50 staff. There is a small charge of £15+VAT for members to attend. Please register by clicking on 'Book Now' in the usual way. Non-members may also attend this session at a fee of £25+VAT, or they may wish to join for £50+VAT and come along to many other networking events for free and breakfast events at the member rate.
In order to cover our costs for these meetings we will have to charge members £15 / head to confirm your attendance. Please note that the fee is non-refundable for cancellation within 5 working days of the event.
We generally run a minimum of 10 networking events over the year, aimed at a group size of around 30 - 40 delegates and focussing on topics such as HR, Marketing, Sales, IT, Finance etc. If you would like to speak at a future breakfast meeting, please send details of your proposed topic to email@example.com for consideration.
