Cambridge Queer Valentine’s

Cambridge’s first Queer Valentine’s – a fantastic night of comedy, music, drag and dance for everyone!

Cambridge charity The Kite Trust is inviting everyone to come out and show their support to the LGBT+ community and celebrate love on Valentine’s night at Cambridge Junction.

Cambridge Queer Valentine’s fantastic line-up is headlined by the ‘gorgeously talented’ (Time Out) Jen Brister. Jen is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, writer and actor who has performed widely, including on Live at the Apollo and on Russell Brand’s show on Radio 2.

Other great acts are:

  • Multi award-winning UK Slam Poetry Champion, Toby Campion – ‘the voice of a generation’ according to the BBC’s Sunday Politics. Toby has performed at Glastonbury Festival and the Royal Albert Hall and made numerous TV appearances
  • Singer-songwriter, Grace Petrie, described as ‘the urgent, pulsing, compassionate talent this world desperately needs.’ (The Observer)
  • Cambridge rising poetry star, Jack Bateman; one of Bodywork Company’s most talented young choreographers performing a new dance about The Kite Trust; London-based drag king and classically trained ballet dancer, Orlando and Queer Tango London.
‘Valentine’s is a day to celebrate love, and, for us as a charity, this is crucial, as we work to ensure that all young people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can live in a world free from discrimination and judgement about who they are attracted to,’ says Lara Jaffey, Executive Director of The Kite Trust. ‘We’re thrilled to be bringing together a message of love and acceptance with our major annual fundraiser.

‘There is a constant growth in demand for our work, and with ever shifting political and financial climates, having a local support base enables us to continue to provide crucial services to LGBT+ young people. This event will be a great way to show your commitment and have a fantastic evening out.'
