Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Additional Needs Employment Event

An event to raise awareness of the value of employing people with additional needs such as learning disabilities, autism and a range of neurodiverse conditions.

We would like to invite you to a seminar where we will give more information on what neurodiversity is and you can access information on disability awareness and how small reasonable adjustments in the workplace can open up much more opportunities for people with additional needs. To register please follow the Eventbrite link:

(NB if you are an employer please register using the 'Teacher' option when prompted.)

We want to encourage local employers to consider this as a great opportunity to fill some of their vacancies. As part of this exciting event, we will be asking employers to talk about the benefits of taking on people with additional needs, such as:

  • Helping employers to tap into a huge resource of peoplw who are keen to move into work and can help plug future vacancy opportunties
  • Opening up the opportunity for employers to skill-up future staff who reflect your needs as an employer.
  • What is The Purple Pound?
  • A work environment which reflects the diverse range of customers and community organisations serve.

We will also discuss the support available for employers such as:

  • Access to Work
  • What are Reasonable Adjustments
  • How can the Job Centre Plus help employers?
  • What does it involve when becoming a Disability Confident Employer?

We hope that you can attend this innovative event. If you would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail please contact Martine Simpson-Thomas on 07876 068830 or email martine.simpson-thomas@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
