Event details:

DSEAR in Laboratories

Laboratories may be smaller in scale than major chemical processing plants, however fires and explosions in this environment can still be significant with catastrophic results.

We have designed our half day 'DSEAR in Laboratories' course to cover the fundamental requirements of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations and how to identify the key hazards found within the lab environment.

Tasks such as:

- laboratory bench work using flammable liquids & gases
- storage of flammable & oxidising chemicals
- internal & external solvent waste stores
- piped systems for flammable gases & oxygen
- external flammable and oxygen gas storage (cylinders etc)

The course will also cover identifying the need for zoning and use of ATEX rated equipment within the laboratory.

Delegates will leave our half day course, confident and empowered in identifying fire and explosion hazards and applying best practice to control these.
