DryGro
Is developing a new way of growing biomass that uses low-cost infrastructure and a novel way of controlling the environment in which plants grow. Lab tests have demonstrated that plants in the system grow faster than they do in the open environment and use 99% less water compared to traditional agriculture. Currently focused on deckweed production in Kenya, DryGro intends to revolutionise animal feed, which is currently Soya dominated an inefficient.
Waterscope
Operating on the liquid side of humanity's supply chain, WaterScope is developing a rapid, easy-to-use, affordable test for bacterial contamination. Their technology uses optics to identify bacterial contamination early and their novel cartridge makes testing extremely simple, not dependent on user skillset or resource availability.Contaminated drinking water affects a tenth of the world’s population. Bacterial contamination is estimated to cause over 500,000 diarrhoeal related deaths globally each year: this is over 2,000 every day. To date they have run successful real world trials in refugee camps in Africa.
30Mhz
30MHz provides growers with everything they need to set up a wireless sensor network, and start monitoring their crops and growing environment in moments, without technical expertise. To do so they utilise a combination of sensors including dewpoint, soil moisture, light intensity, temperature, humidity, windspeed, airflow and CO2. 30MHz provides a private, scalable mesh network and an intuitive analytics platform with real-time alerts, visualizations, heatmaps, charts and graphs. Real-time crop monitoring helps growers make quick, informed decisions with granular, accurate data.
