So what's wrong with the compound microscope? Not a lot, but after 300 years, inventors Andrew Monk and Richard Williams thought it would be nice to put a lab quality microscope in your pocket and connect it to your mobile phone. It turns out that re-engineering the microscope allows scientists to carry out important primary research and education in The Amazon, Antarctica and even on Everest with a 1 micron resolution. In this talk, Andrew guides the audience through the development of ioLight's Magnificent Mobile Microscope from sketches on beermats to ascending Everest.
ONLINE WEBINAR - Re-Engineering The Microscope
Andrew Monk is passionate about transferring technology to the market and has led startups across a number of disciplines. He founded ioLight Ltd with Richard Williams and they are now putting microscopes in the pockets of leading scientists and educators.
