Postponed to 13th January 2020: Invitation to Leader’s Budget Briefing to Businesses

We regret that because of Council neutrality requirements in the run up to the general election, I need to POSTPONE this year’s briefing for businesses and organisations, scheduled for 11 November.  Local Authorities have strict rules limiting council publicity and public meetings during elections and this means it would not be appropriate to hold this event now until after it is over .

From Councillor Lewis Herbert, Leader, Cambridge City Council:

I have rearranged the event early in the New Year instead, as I’d very much welcome the chance to discuss the key issues we and Cambridge face in 2020, to hear your views and respond on the  Council’s role in working with you on our shared priorities.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope you will be able to join us on Monday 13 January 2020.

I’d like to extend a warm invitation to you to this year’s  briefing for Businesses and Organisations at the Guildhall on 13 January where I will be setting out the opportunities and challenges facing the Council in the 2020s, and discuss our priorities and budget strategy for the years ahead.

The event will be an informal session in the Council Chamber, with refreshments available on the landing outside the Chamber on the 1st Floor of the Guildhall from 5.00pm.

I’d very much welcome the chance to discuss the key issues you face, and the Council’s role in working with you on those, and hear your view . The session will be interactive, with an open Q&A discussion on the work the Council does to promote sustainable economic growth, and what you can do with us to tackle some of the key challenges the city, its businesses and its residents face.

To help inform our thinking on the Council’s budget priorities, if you could complete the short survey  before Friday 15 November, that would help us a great deal, and would be very much appreciated. Please share this link with other businesses in your networks, as we’re keen to hear from as many businesses as possible.

I look forward to seeing you on 13 January, and to working with you to make this world class small city even greater.

If you are unable to attend, or feel this invitation is more appropriate for someone else in your organisation, please do forward this email on.

Space is limited so please confirm your attendance by Monday 6th January by e-mailing kathy.brown@cambridge.gov.uk

Kind regards

Lewis
