Practical Essentials of Mass Spectrometers in GC-MS

This is module 6 of the Complete GC & GC-MS and covers how mass spectrometers work and the data they generate along with the principles and components of the mass spectrometer.

This course has been approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) for purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

This 2.5-hour module is taught live in a virtual classroom, is totally interactive with instrument parts and consumables shown & explained. There are small group sizes so plenty of opportunities to ask questions then get them answered on screen!

This module focuses on mass spectrometry, the reasons for using the technique and the data generated.

The course reviews the types of mass spectrometers available that are hyphenated to GC and looks at their components including vacuum systems, ionisation techniques, mass filters and detectors.
