Virtual Classroom: Absolute Basics of Metabolomics

This live, instructor-led Virtual Classroom course provides an introduction for absolute beginners to Metabolomics.

Opening with a "walk-though" summary of the workflows in a metabolomics study, the course goes on to outline the considerations when designing a metabolomics experiment or study including sampling and quality control, metadata and sample preparation techniques.

There will be an overview of the types of different Mass Spectrometry-based instrumentation and other techniques (such as NMR and Infrared) that produce data used for metabolomic analysis.

The course covers data processing and statistical analysis including worked examples using data analysis software. This section will cover processing and preparation of mass spectrometry data and will give an overview of Multivariate Statistical Analysis techniques. It will go through the different techniques, methods and tools used for creating and mapping data.

The course provides an overview of the history, development and current use of metabolomics in fields such as clinical, environmental, flavour and fragrance and biotechnology applications and its use in method development.

The course will also explore the frontiers of metabolomics and advancements in the field.

Virtual Classroom training: This course is taught live in a virtual classroom and offers a fully interactive experience, with small class sizes. Delegates are able to ask live questions; either by using their microphone or by typing into the chat box.

Duration: Total of 6.5 hours.
