We need to talk about Brexit, the reality! (a Cambridge Network event)

We last heard from Prof Barnard in September when she explained why law underpins every aspect of how Brexit will play out and how she could see we would only get a wafer-thin deal. We’re pleased to welcome Catherine back to give us an update now that 2021 is well underway, and invite you to take an active part in the discussion.

Where we left off:  The UK has left the EU, with far-reaching implications for businesses and citizens. There will be changes for the economy, industry, tax, regulatory standards, travel, EU research funding, and the list goes on.  Brexit still has complex legal issues to be navigated and negotiated for years to come.  The wider picture of Covid, security, trade with USA/China highlights the need for the UK to cooperate effectively with the EU in the future.  Many practical issues still need sorting and our input may count.

This session will update us on what has happened and what still needs to happen to enable a successful transition.  We will have a panel discussion with some Cambridge Network members and some Cambridge Angels following Prof Barnard’s talk.  Please sign up to come, submit questions in advance and take part in the discussion.
