RF Test Development Engineer

You’ll be working as part of the development team, developing and testing the microwave communication product from early prototypes, through product approvals to volume manufacture. As opposed to simply documenting work and necessary changes, you’ll also be making modifications to SMT PCB’S and creating fixtures. You’ll also provide offshore support with new product introduction and assisting with test failure analysis.

The role

You’ll be working as part of the development team, developing and testing the microwave communication product from early prototypes, through product approvals to volume manufacture. As opposed to simply documenting work and necessary changes, you’ll also be making modifications to SMT PCB’S and creating fixtures. You’ll also provide offshore support with new product introduction and assisting with test failure analysis.

Technical Requirements

Always the fun part, make sure to have a read of the below to ensure you’re meeting the tech criteria:

  • RF circuit and system test knowledge, ideally at microwave frequencies.
  • Fault finding to component level for power supply, high speed digital and RF boards.
  • Experience with European and US product approvals and environmental test, working with external test houses.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity making modifications to SMT pcbs and creating/specifying test fixtures and wiring looms.

And it would be useful if you knew something about:

  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi, GPS, HALT, HASS and FMEA
  • Electronics design (circuit and layout)
  • Software design (Linux, C, C++ and Python)
