My client is looking for someone with a software or electronics background with experience in providing technical advice and support on a 1 to 1 and group basis.

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire 
Hours:    09:00am – 17:00pm Monday – Friday (Flexible working hours could be considered) 
Salary:    £Negotiable + Bonus!

Reporting directly to the Marketing Director you will work closely with them and the sales team to provide technical support to customers, as well as working with the technical team to stay knowledgeable of all updates and changes to product software. 

Responsibilities: 

•    Provide technical pre- and post-sales support and consulting to customers, prospects and partners
•    Be the key technical contact person for both prospective and current customers, answering enquiries and providing the technical leadership on sales calls, product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts in conjunction with the sales account manager or independently with customers
•    Provide technical services including guidance and responding to enquiries concerning products, usage, and best practices through to proposals and onboarding, product mentoring and training to customers as required
•    Assess prospective customers’ needs and requirements during discovery interviews (email, call, web, live chat, face-to-face)
•    Conduct product demonstrations, technical sales calls and guide prospective and existing customers through product evaluations either on-site or remotely as required, ensuring products can meet their requirements
•    Manage support cases with customers, escalating to engineering colleagues where needed
•    Manage strategic technical partners recruitment and ongoing technical and consultative relationships
•    Follow up 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many sales and marketing initiatives, both inbound and outbound, utilising phone, email and webchat where applicable 
•    Attend events, exhibitions, networking conferences etc and speak to visitors about the product; and provide live product demonstrations at these events. Present and speak at conferences, seminars and webinars.
•    Assist with the creation of customer collateral such as tailored proposals, proof of concept documents, competitive analysis, business cases and presentations to support deal acceleration, existing customer growth and the commercial team
•    Test and evaluate new hardware and software products from suppliers, informing internal decisions on adoption and appropriate commercial and support strategies
•    Document and communicate product feedback, new requirements, and competitive intelligence to commercial team

Skills and Experience: 

•    3+ years of experience in technical pre-sales support or in a technological consulting capacity including customer facing demonstrations or presentations, or strong engineering experience with desire for a commercial role
•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
•    Experience with hardware and software. Any experience with test scenarios with mobile devices would be a huge benefit
•    Ability to understand pertinent technical questions related to products and customers desired solution and architecture, while being able to present the inherent value and benefits of the technology
•    Travel is required and flexibility in hours is a bonus, due to the location of our customers
•    Experience delivering customer facing consulting or pre-sales engineering engagements
•    Experience of MacOS, Windows and Linux environments
