Meteor Inkjet Ltd is seeking an Electronics Engineer for its world-wide industrial inkjet electronics and software business.

Electronics Engineer (Graduate)
Meteor develops and sells the electronics and software used to drive industrial inkjet printheads from companies including Epson, FUJIFILM Dimatix, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Ricoh, Seiko Instruments, Toshiba TEC and Xaar. Meteor’s customers are manufacturers of digital printers serving a wide range of markets such as textile printing, ceramic tile printing, labelling, 3D printing, digital product decoration and more. With a long-established reputation in the development, supply and support of reliable, high-performance products, Meteor has secured a significant share of this global market and enjoys a loyal and growing customer base.
Most Meteor products are based on a high-performance architecture including field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), digital and analog electronics and software for both PCs and for microcontrollers. Meteor seeks an enthusiastic and capable engineer with a good understanding of digital systems and a desire to develop their skills in electronics design. Experience with VHDL and/or C++ would be useful. Recent graduates with demonstrable interest to become expert in this field will also be considered.
The Electronics Engineer’s responsibilities will include electronics development to meet customer and in-house requirements, testing and validating prototype designs, participating in group design activities and managing product development including electronics, FPGA code and software.
The candidate must have a proactive and confident attitude to problem solving and should be self-motivated, adaptable and practical.
The candidate should meet the following requirements:
- A good degree (2:1 or 1st) in electronics engineering or similar discipline
- A good understanding of digital design principles
- Ability to work with complex systems combining digital electronics and software
- Desire to work in a small, multi-disciplinary team
The candidate should ideally also have some of the following:
- Experience with software development in C/C++
- Experience with writing FPGA code in VHDL or Verilog
- Experience with digital and analog electronics design
The job is based at Meteor’s headquarters near Cambridge. Occasional international travel may be required to establish product requirements and to assist customers in deploying products.
