An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Software Engineers to join our successful and expanding Professional Services team at RealVNC.
Software Engineers (Professional Services)
RealVNC is a highly successful software company based in Cambridge (UK) city centre. As the original developers of VNC remote-access technology our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide from the non-technical home user to IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, and Philips. We are currently expanding our Professional Services team and are looking for talented software engineers.
As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for specifying, developing, delivering and supporting bespoke software based upon existing RealVNC products, whilst engaging with customers to understand their technical requirements. You’ll work closely both with internal development teams and product management to understand the available technologies, and also to help determine a future direction that delivers on both customer and internal roadmaps.
These roles offer an opportunity to work on a broad variety of projects, using leading edge technologies across a wide range of platforms. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are excited about this opportunity and are able to grow with the team as we further increase our customer engagements.
have got strong C++ and object-oriented design skills
have had some exposure to Java, C# or Objective-C
have a proven track record developing on at least one desktop platform (Windows, Linux, OSX)
can work well both independently, and as part of a wider product team
have excellent oral and written communication skills
have a relevant technical degree (or equivalent qualification) in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
As well as the above, if you have experience with any of the following technologies then we’d like to know about it!
Cross platform development experience
An understanding of the technologies that underpin the Internet, and how they work
Some experience developing for one or more embedded or mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and Windows CE
