IT Support Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented IT Support Engineer to join our team at RealVNC.

The role

Working as part of the systems team, you will be supporting internal users in a fast-moving IT environment. You will provide support for a variety of operating systems and hardware. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, this role offers fantastic opportunities to expand your career with the inventors of VNC technology.

You

  • have experience of supporting the following:
    • Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP, 7, 8)
    • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
    • Mac OS X
    • Printers
    • Desktop and laptop hardware
    • Network patching and cabling
  • have good troubleshooting skills
  • have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • enjoy taking ownership of problems through to resolution, working with colleagues and hardware/software vendors as required

Anything else?

As well as the above, if you have experience with any of the following technologies, then we’d like to know about it!

  • Linux Desktop Operating systems
  • Automated build technologies
  • Microsoft Server technologies (incl. Exchange)

It’s a full-time post, but we believe in a healthy work / life balance, so it’s 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday). Please bear in mind that the team also provides out-of-hours support, meaning there’s an additional on-call element requiring you to be available 24/7 on rotation.
