Sphere Fluidics Limited is an established Life Sciences company, which is developing new instrumentation systems for biological drug discovery. The company is growing quickly and so we are now looking for a highly motivated Quality and Health & Safety Manager to support the Operations team and ensure quality and safety across the entire organisation.

Salary circa: £28,000 per annum.

General Purpose

Responsible for planning, scheduling and reporting on Sphere Fluidics’ Quality and Health & Safety (H&S) activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure QMS is reviewed and regularly updated in line with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Plan and facilitate quarterly reviews for QMS and Health & Safety committees.
  • Arrange internal and external audits for both Quality and H&S.
  • Act as an escalation point for any incidents, identifying root cause and preventative/corrective actions.
  • Develop a network of useful external quality and H&S advisors and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure H&S inductions for new starters is carried out promptly and accurate records maintained.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for document control system, sharing knowledge and helping other teams to maximise usage
  • Take ownership for quality tasks such as ensuring timely completion of CAPAs, updates to process maps and internal audits
  • Act as the Quality and H&S SME for the company, advising other teams and spreading knowledge throughout the organisation
  • Identify opportunities to train or upskill others to ensure a culture of compliance
  • Analyse the environment and recommend opportunities to improve procedures
  • Assist the wider Operations team with ad-hoc tasks as required

 

Education and Experience

  • Previous responsibility within a Quality or H&S role essential, ideally in a Life Sciences organisation
  • Previous experience of ISO 9001:2015/QMS/Risk Assessments preferred
  • Minimum A-level or equivalent educational experience
