Strategic Product Marketing Manager

Cambridge, England, United Kingdom · Marketing

Often companies describe themselves as leaders in their market and able to offer features and capability that differentiate themselves from their competitors. But how often is this really the case? At Speechmatics we are no different with one major exception - it's true. But don’t just take my word for it. This is reflected by our customers, what they say about us and our product, and how we constantly beat some of the world's largest and most well-known technology providers when it comes to accuracy, deployability and feature capability. As a product marketing manager I’m challenged, encouraged and motivated every day to do my part to maintain our position at the bleeding edge of automatic speech recognition. At Speechmatics, I am given all the tools to not only succeed in my role but to take real ownership and responsibility to generate new ideas, implement them and see the results supported by amazing people throughout our organisation. Clear articulate messaging from leadership on vision and strategy, decisive action plans and the ability to contribute and be recognised for that contribution is motivating and drives a real team mentality. This solidifies Speechmatics as not only a great place to work but as a leader in technology, the speech industry and is just a great place to be.

If that’s you, carry on reading.

The Opportunity

The marketing team is a busy, growing team looking to expand our capability. As a strategic product marketer, you’ll understand Speechmatics’ positioning and know the technology (we’ll give you training) and the market inside and out. Using your market analysis skills, you’ll conduct market sizing and forecasts and identify addressable markets for now and in the future. As owner of the go-to-market strategy and plans, you’ll understand applicability across sectors and, with research and insight, you’ll be able to prioritise new sectors with relevant applications. You’ll be an expert in understanding competitors and competitive dynamics, consider competition when making recommendations and have the foresight to always know where we’re going next in terms of both geographies and sectors.

You’ll work with product managers to share insights and influence the product roadmap. You’ll also liaise with other product marketers to take Speechmatics into the markets you’re prioritising. The information you provide will be used for identifying potential partners and defining go-to-market on a geography, sector, use case and partner basis.

Because you’ll be joining an expanding team and Speechmatics is rapidly changing, you’ll need to be a team player, work collaboratively and take change in your stride. You’ll be the type of person to ask lots of questions, bring ideas to the table and be prepared to learn and get stuck into whatever is needed. Key to success in this role will be your balance of technical and commercial skills, not being afraid of data, and a willingness to get stuck in to get stuff done.
