The Position A position has risen to work in the Cambridge Technical Communications team as a Technical Writer. The position involves working with a globally matrixed team and key stakeholders. First and foremost, we are looking for the right person to fit the team, so the position may suit a graduate interested in technology through to a senior Technical Writer. The position will involve the development of topic-based system-level customer-facing content for wireless audio, wearables and IoT products that is lean, relevant, and scenario-based for documents and web-based content management systems.
Responsibilities As part of the Global Technical Communications group you will have the responsibilities of:

  • Developing customer-facing content for Voice and Music, and Wearables business unit in the content management system (CMS)
  • Adhering to Information Architecture
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in engineering
  • Liaise with the business unit and the program management office
  • Working in an Agile team (Kanban and Scrum)
  • Updating program and project management information inside JIRA
  • Maintaining team sites
  • Reporting to team leads or leading a team (depending on experience)
  • Travel may be required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree holder
  • DITA, XML, or markup languages (e.g. HTML)
  • XML content management systems and single-sourcing
  • Web content development and document delivery
  • Topic-based writing
  • Scenario-based content,lean and relevant content
  • Agile methodologies
  • Global English standard
  • Style and grammar tools (e.g. Acrolinx)
  • JIRA and Confluence
  • Source code systems (e.g.Github, Perforce, Bitbucket etc)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doxygen
  • Translation processes and tools
  • Wireless audio technologies, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi
  • Semiconductors
