Do you work in data science? Are you looking for an opportunity to take the skills you have acquired as a data scientist and use them to help the NHS deliver innovations and make a real difference to patients’ lives?
Non Executive Director
Eastern AHSN was established by the NHS to convene all partners in the health sector, to develop and deliver innovative care. We are looking for someone to join our Board who has experience of driving the application of data science, advanced analytics and related approaches to unlock the full potential of data – ultimately to help us deliver our purpose to turn great ideas into positive health impact.
A recent example of our work is how we helped to bring together academia, industry, patients and the NHS to secure a significant grant from Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) to establish a health data research hub for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The objective of this hub is to securely bring together genomic data with the NHS health records of around 25,000 IBD sufferers in the UK in order to better understand why patents respond differently to treatments and enable them to find the most effective treatment as quickly as possible and limit disease progression. This initiative makes the prospect of personalised medicine real for IBD patients.
We are ambitious for patients and committed to applying evidence to make change happen – if this also sounds like you please get in touch.
The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 27 January 2020.
