The Oracle Specialist will ensure smooth operational support of the Oracle ERP suite while aligning inbound business requirements to the Oracle roadmap, adhering to the Global template and change controls.

This will require formation and maintenance of strong relationships with internal user and governance groups, process owners, and the operational support team including the 3rd party Application Managed Service (AMS) provider.


Line Management and Staff development

• Create and actively maintain development plans for Oracle specialists
• Ensure functional and technical knowledge coverage across Oracle specialists and 3rd party AMS
• Championing AVEVA LIFE values eg maintaining integrity and encouraging excellence everyday
• Present advice to Heads of Operations re Oracle ERP suite roadmap
• Identify and champion opportunities to add value, raise and pursue risks to manage
• Be a key contact point with Oracle and keep up to date with roadmap developments
• Driving a cadence of value & risk assessments with GPOs, RPOs and business stakeholders
• Introduce and drive knowledge sharing forums with business stakeholders
• Translation of business requirements into Global configuration changes
• Active participation and support of Data Governance initiatives
• Accountable for maintenance and delivery of a range of classroom, virtual and online Training material
• Supporting GIS PMs and BAs with information required for project initiation & delivery
• Monitor, review and drive continuous improvement of stakeholders satisfaction of advice

Control and oversight and technical steer of 3rd party AMS providers

• Maintenance of Global template
• Technical reviews of configuration (& code if any)
• Perform impact assessment of interface changes
• Participate and challenge in change control boards and approach to applying changes to environments
• Co-review of escalated incidents to identify problems and recommending configuring changes
• Advise level 2 support and the 3rd party AMS on courses of action

Experience Required

The individual can demonstrate:

• Successful development and teaming of Oracle specialists whether in house or AMS
• Proactive and positive engagement of business stakeholders
• Successfully leveraging Oracle to achieve Global business requirements while controlling local requirements
• Delivery and maintenance of high impact training collateral
• Agenda writing, meeting facilitation and documentation

Technical Knowledge (essential):

Oracle Fusion module certification or demonstrable experience including
• Financials (General Ledger, Procurement, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets)
• Time and Labour
