Project Manager (ADVANCE CoE)

AVEVA is a FTSE 100 listed company partnering with Industrial organisations to help their digital transformations across both physical assets and operational lifecycles. Preparing for our own rapid organic and acquisitive growth, AVEVA is setting up an internally-facing Advance Operations team to operate streamlined business processes enabled by a new ERP system suite.

 

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) Project Manager will provide operational support throughout the delivery lifecycle of the Advance (Oracle ERP) Programme, as well as managing multiple internal projects in ‘business as usual’ operations.

Responsibilities

 

Advance Programme operational support:


Assist with the smooth operation of the PMO function:

  • Implement and maintain appropriate PMO processes & controls to support the delivery of the programme
    Prepare, attend and facilitate governance forums as required (i.e. Steering Groups / Board meetings) to brief stakeholders and support decision-making
  • Ensure reporting is effective and distributed in a timely manner
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed programme plans, identifying risk areas and reporting on progress
  • Manage upwards and escalate issues where appropriate.

 

Continually review and improve existing PMO processes and controls

Centre of Excellence (BAU Operations):
 

Manage multiple internal projects for the CoE, such as:

  • Onboarding acquisitions
  • Evaluation of major new functionality (e.g. adoption of Oracle HCM, PBCS)
  • Implementation of Chart of Accounts changes in line with Data Governance timetable and controls
  • Business Process functionality changes

 

Embed and support AVEVA Project methodology:

  • Initiate projects following AVEVA approval processes, ensuring information flow across the RACI
  • Continuously improve the methodology
  • Align project methodology and Portfolio / Programme reporting to governance groups (e.g. Transformation
  • Office, Executive Leadership Team)
  • Create and maintain project plans and RAID logs
  • Drive the team to deliver tangible outputs against milestones throughout the Project Lifecycle

 

Oversee operational planning and effectiveness:

  • Oversee the Operations plan (including system updates, security reviews, audits, data archiving), with respect for the Financial year timetable
  • Monitor business engagement metrics e.g. champion management, training metrics, succession planning

 

Skills & Qualifications


You can demonstrate:

  • Programme / project management expertise in ERP implementations (Oracle Fusion Cloud experience an advantage)
  • Ability to work with, manage and develop both onshore and offshore staff as well as a 3rd party application managed service provider
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines effectively whilst working under pressure
  • Proactive, clear and concise communication, particularly in written communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and evidence proactive and positive engagement of business stakeholders
  • Meeting facilitation and creation of supporting documentation such as budget reporting and Steerco packs
     

Technical Knowledge:

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud knowledge/experience
    Familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI, PRINCE 2)
  • Knowledge of project planning and dependency management tools and best practice
  • Experience of creating and maintaining detailed portfolio plans
  • Business, IT, Financial stakeholder communication skills (this is a highly visible position with substantial impact)
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources
  • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business
  • SalesForce knowledge/experience is a plus
