About the Company

Spotta is a VC backed, fast-growing startup in Cambridge, UK.  We are commercialising our proprietary AI and ultra-low-power IoT technology to solve the £320Bn problem of insect pests.

Our ambition is to be the world’s first smart pest systems company. We are at a really exciting intersection between AI, environmental sustainability, and IoT. Our scalable, platform technology enables huge increases in productivity in a whole range of sectors, including agriculture, forestry, textiles, and hospitality. We are building a substantial, highly profitable business and we’re going to massively reduce global insecticide use in the process.

Founded in 2018, we’re revenue-generating having commercialised our first product in 2019  We have an ambitious strategy and product roadmap and we are now looking to expand into our next key markets.

Spotta’s technology is based on 7 years of R&D and has been hugely effective in real-world conditions, demonstrated by early sales traction. These proof-points allowed us to raise our Seed round (in the teeth of a financial crisis) to finance the rapid expansion of our commercial activity.

 

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work with the management team to:

  • Identify and assess opportunities for Spotta in new and existing markets

  • Build and maintain commercial relationships with downstream partners and customers

  • Support the CEO with commercial strategy, key strategic relationships and opportunities

  • Work across the range of sectors where Spotta’s technology can add value

  • Extend the company’s knowledge through deep analytical assessment of markets to, build/contribute to GTM plans and business cases for new products

  • Evaluate the market constantly (new customers, new products and competitors)

  • Engage in customer and partner interactions alongside the CEO

  • Represent Spotta publicly

Skills and experience we require:

  • Previous experience in a fast-growing B2B tech company

  • Able to sell Spotta and yourself to customers and partners

  • Strong numeracy, with excellent business analytical skills

  • Able to understand and articulate Spotta’s technology

  • Communicate effectively at senior levels 

Skills we consider beneficial:

  • Previous experience in negotiating significant commercial contracts such as distribution, licencing, or supply deals

  • Ability to shoulder additional responsibility as the company grows. Opportunities are likely to include taking responsibility for certain sectors (with P&L authority) or even promotion to Chief Commercial Officer across all sectors, if you are able to demonstrate that you have the drive and capability after joining the company.

Pay:

£60k+ base + Options
