Head of Business Development

Help a popular and successful Cambridge-based social enterprise generate income from a range of sources, driving their ambitious growth plans. This is a crucial position and will see you sitting on the Management Team where you will design, manage and implement sales processes in order to support the organisation’s work, along with overseeing the marketing and account management activities. Working closely with the CEO, you will build relationships with businesses and other funding bodies to gain financial support for Form the Future's important work with young people. 

Main Duties:

Critical Success Factors

Relationship Management

  • Establish new contacts with prospective funders, supporters and clients
  • Develop and maintain existing relationships with major funders and supporters, including all necessary reporting and re-application
  • Draft correspondence, proposals, sponsorship agreements, gift agreements and reports
  • Represent FTF at external events
  • Deliver high quality presentations to audiences at all levels
  • Motivate colleagues to be active partners in developing cases, cultivating prospects, and inspiring contributions.

 

Brand Management

  • Develop compelling promotional materials that connect with stakeholders’ interests
  • Oversee the marketing and promotional activities of Form the Future

 

Planning & Support

  • Establish a sales process for the organisation.
  • Produce annual plans for all areas of business development
  • Support Form the Future’s other activities, if required, plus other associated tasks that would be reasonable within the role.
  • Assist in the organisation of specialised events such as the annual conference, funders briefings and other events for current and prospective partners.

 

Research

  • Research and develop a prospect portfolio of corporates, other institutions, trusts and foundations and high net worth individuals
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, and tracking relevant opportunities.

 

Budget Management

 

  • Be personally accountable for successful generation of major income to support programmes and the delivery of the ongoing strategy
  • Secure financial support from corporates, other institutions, trusts and foundations and high net worth individuals and develop bids in response to tenders
  • Monitor invitations to tender and other funding opportunities
